9 year old – excommunicated

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I read recently that the pope had “excommunicated” the family of a 9 year old who had gotten an abortion.

Quoting the online article from time magazine http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1883598,00.html:

The case of the pregnant 9-year-old was shocking enough. But it was the response of the Catholic Church that infuriated many Brazilians. Archibishop Jose Cardoso Sobrinho of the coastal city of Recife announced that the Vatican was excommunicating the family of a local girl who had been raped and impregnated with twins by her stepfather, because they had chosen to have the girl undergo an abortion. The Church excommunicated the doctors who performed the procedure as well. “God’s laws,” said the archbishop, dictate that abortion is a sin and that transgressors are no longer welcome in the Roman Catholic Church. “They took the life of an innocent,” Sobrinho told TIME in a telephone interview. “Abortion is much more serious than killing an adult. An adult may or may not be an innocent, but an unborn child is most definitely innocent. Taking that life cannot be ignored.”

Wow. This article just shocked me.

Master Cleansing Contemplation

Monday, April 13th, 2009

As part of my fast leading up to Passover I had gotten down to about 216-220lbs. Yay. Quite exciting. At my maximum weight almost three to four years ago I had weighed 250lbs. Holy Cow, fat man!

My doctor had told me I need to be about 180lbs, so I guess I have about another 40lbs to go. The trouble is, even after switching to vegetarian diet and walking and exercising, I still wasn’t losing all that much weight. It may have been all the oranges I was eating. When I was at around 235 lbs, I tried something called the “red light” therapy. I would basically hold a red lamp and point it at my solar plexus for about 30 minutes, while listening to marching music. I ate nothing but red or orange food for about 3 – 4 weeks. I dropped 10lbs fairly quickly, but once I started going back to normal food, my weight loss halted.

My most recent fast in preparation for Passover brought me down to 218-220lbs. I seem to be holding weight at 220lbs.

For my next trick, I am thinking of doing the “Master Cleanse” fast. This is basically lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. They say that you can lose up to 2lbs a day on this fast and can go as long as 40 days because most of the vitamins and minerals are provided by the lemons and maple syrup. This may be my next step in my efforts to reset my metabolism and no longer be a bigger fellow.

I’ll have to wait until after the Feast of Unleavened Bread is complete to do this one though. I am actually getting excited about fasting. Weirdo.

Natural Healing

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Quoted from an email that is floating around on the Internet:

It’s been said that God first separated the salt water from the
fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish… all before
making a human. He made and provided what we’d need before we were born.
These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We’re such slow
learners…
*
God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!
*
*A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating
lines look just like the human eye… and YES, science now shows carrots
greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.*
*A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is
red. All of the research shows **tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are
indeed pure heart and blood food.*
*Grapes** **hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape
looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also
profound heart and blood vitalizing food.*
*A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper
cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut
are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than
three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.*
*Kidney Beans* actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes,
they look exactly like the human kidneys.
*Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb** and many more look just like bones. These
foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these
foods are 23% sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet, the
body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish
the skeletal needs of the body.*
*Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears** target the health and function of the
womb and cervix of the female – they look just like these organs. Today’s
research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances
hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And
how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado
from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical
constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has
only studied and named about 141 of them).*
*Figs* are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase
the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to
overcome male sterility.

*Sweet Potatoes** *look like the pancreas and actually balance the
glycemic index of diabetics.

*Olives** *assist the health and function of the ovaries

*Oranges, **Grapefruits*, and other *Citrus* fruits look just like the
mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts
and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

*Onions** *look like the body’s cells. Today’s research shows onions
help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce
tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, *
Garlic*, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals
from the body.

*Psalm 46:10 – ‘Be Still and Know that I AM GOD’
*Please don’t break this even if you only send it to one person. Look at
the date when this was started.

Hands Solo

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Today I have a difficult subject. Over the last year or so – I have learned that with difficult subjects – one must build a bit of a buffer in communication because not everyone can handle unfiltered communication. This is true with my wife at present and so I am applying this communication concept here as an example.

Stated another way – I have learned over the last few weeks when writing to be more sensitive to folks because all of us don’t always shoot from the hip – so pardon the pun for what is coming.

Today’s subject is of such a personal and private matter – yet I feel it is important and at the risk of sounding crass and exposing private matters. I think it would be important for would be marriage restoration folks and seekers of spiritual truths which is why I bring it up. I have looked all over the Internet for this and have not found a satisfactory answer. Hopefully, this does not become my 15 minutes of fame.

Anyway – two – three years ago – I would have taken the world’s stance on this, yet now like so many other things am beginning to understand that many physical things are just allegory for something much much deeper within whatever spiritual planes exist out there.

For God’s sake – what are you planning to talk about Shohn?

Here goes… and brace yourself.

The old adage about masturbation causing blindness may be true on some levels I have recently discovered. This is an embarrassing and taboo topic; however, one that I think doesn’t get necessary attention.

From a practical level, I have mentioned for some time that my wife and I are currently separated (she has been much much nicer in recent weeks though and told one of my daughters that she loves me – yaaay!). Still though – that means no making love for me, which is hard for me because I seem to like that as much as Austin Powers – yet I’m trying to be pure and what not so I can get my marriage back together somehow.

So… and gosh this is embarassing….that means no / limited relieving myself of sexual frustrations as well since I am seeking to enter into the narrow gate if one were to read the Bible from an esoteric point of view. Esoteric or not, I wouldn’t want to walk up on Jesus playing with the monkey since he is the model we should strive for….. he shows us the Way.

Let’s take our traditional Bible hat off for a second and think spiritually and allegorically. 12 tribes . 12 zodiac signs. 7 notes in an octave. 7 major “chakra” – look it up.  Now imagine for a second that YOU are actually a projection of your soul – that being of light described in near death experiences – like a movie being put on a screen or a shadow of a tree….what the new age calls the higher self perhaps – into this place called earth. That you are just reflection of your soul… the higher self. Okay.. that means you are light and you would hopefully want to grow the light… and not lose the light.

I started looking into this some more in terms of spirituality and what not. As I understand it, spiritually speaking – the very act (e.g., spanking the monkey) considered so humorous in many circles of today’s culture CAN result in a tremendous loss of spiritual light and energy for a man if ejaculation is not done inside of a woman – and ideally – that woman should be one’s wife who hasn’t been defiled.

I said ideally. You have to play the cards you were dealt I guess.  I certainly wasn’t perfect; however, I have read that with a proper amount of knowledge of spirituality such problems can be overcome with true soul mates though they are rare.

Anyway, if a man is ejaculating inside a woman, the net spiritual energy loss is zero – the positive and negative cancel out -  BUT can be used to raise one’s light / energy if the woman has the ability to channel the energy back to you through the ol’ chakra system. If you don’t know what the chakra are, then look it up yo.
For the same reason that men are often fascinated by woman’s breasts (they are negatively charged in that area just as they can be positively charged in the umm pelvic region) – apparently the energy can be bounced back by a qualified woman – hopefully one that hasn’t been defiled by multiple partners for one seeking greater spiritual growth and entering into the narrow gate within.

From a world perspective this seems to make sense. Just look up some stats on pre-marital sex vs. divorce rate etc. Look up stats on divorce rates for the second, third, and fourth marriages. God has reasons for the rules apparently.

Invariably, one may try to justify the act as “healthy” or “normal”. Even a judicious search of Bible passages for the aspiring Christian attempting to justify their beliefs may reveal Leviticus 15:6 which seems to be a an allusion to what is considered a “natural” act by today’s standard – yet the translators seem to have taken some liberal license with this.  The reason I say it an allusion is that there are two parallel passages – one for with a woman and one without. I am NOT a translator though – so what do I know.
Lev 15:16  And if any man’s seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall bathe all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
Lev 15:17  And every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.
Lev 15:18  The woman also with whom a man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.
Continuuing though – “Natural”. Yes, I imagine that for those not yet seeking to purify themselves then it would be natural remembering that we seem to be part animal and part something else.

Now understand that I’m not saying that sex or even masturbation is evil per se, but rather if abused it can result in a tremendous amount of harm or stunt one’s spiritual growth and if one is not aware of how the light / chakra work – well one could lose a lot of light.

There seem to be certain expectations of growth within the scriptures from what I can discern so far. If one were to review some of Moses’ laws – one might find that as one “enters” the land – becoming part of Israel, then the moral standards get raised – yet one can not push the standards on those outside of Israel but must allow them to grow as they can. Sort of like not expecting a kid to know how to drive. You may recall certain passages in Acts asking the new Gentile believes to:

Act 21:25  But as for the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our judgment that they should abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality.”

I started a search on the internet to understand this better from a spiritual point of view. The Bible basically says … don’t do this and that, but doesn’t really explain WHY. That’s the part I was looking to better understand.

Well, I found this site which supposedly has research  that indicates that excessive masturbation or over sex can indeed result in all sorts of problems. Watch out for the $$ signs as usual though. He may just be pimping some product, but the information does sound plausible and would be in accordance with mother’s expert knowledge that they always seem to just intuitivley “know”.

I guess blindness may be one reason to knock it off if you are wrestling with things that ought not be messed with. How though to control the urge when one, as Austin Powers might say, starts to become randi? It ain’t easy I suppose, especially for guys.
Well supposedly, there are ways to stop such calls of nature using tantric yoga. Supposedly sitting full lotus makes it go away. Goodie. Full lotus. That will take 5 years for me to be able to do.
I’ve got most of this worked out of my system for now, but I still have blood coarsing through my veins so it could still become a problem. That’s not the real reason why I looked into this though. I’m trying to do what is called channeling the sexual energy into spiritual energy or something like that during my meditation.
This is much easier to do with a woman as I mentioned early, but I don’t exactly have a woman right now for reflecting light back to me using the chakra so I was trying to figure out if there were other ways to grow the light through the lower chakra. I have read that a man has the ability to channel the sexual energy within as part of the meditative practices and instead of converting that energy into more seed for the sperm bank or magazine pages for normal guys, could instead be used to grow one’s light.

Rabbid Weight Loss

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

I have been working out off and on for about a month or so. I wanted to note the following as I proceed to the next phase of my goals – one of which is to lose weight and increase muscle and have a body like Van Damme by time I am 33. I am 31 now. Good luck with that you arrogant son of a gun… 🙂

Where am I today?

I adjusted a vegetarian diet back in May of 08. Back then I weighed about 210-215lbs. I call it a “fast” so I don’t freak people out. What do you mean you don’t want to eat dead animals? Is there something wrong with you? I could ask – have you ever looked one of these animals in the eyes as it was being killed? No? I didn’t think so – let me eat my rabbit food in peace please 🙂

I have been told my numerous individuals that I “look better” since doing the vegetarian thing; however, my weight is now come back up between 225-230lbs and I am not happy about this. 🙁

Digging far back into the ol’ mathematics memory bank, I decided that I needed to look at the body as a differential equation of sorts. It seems that relationships are much the same and I have noticed that many things in life tend to have analogies else where on how things really work behind the scenes. Relationship dynamics equations vs. body equations… perhaps similar to how there are equations in the electrical and mechanical world that are basically the same but just use different methods of representation… for example, a capacitor stores / dampens electrical energy and so does a compressed spring. You may remember physics from back in high-school that the equations for modeling eletrical and physical things are often very much the same even when looking at very different things. A spring and capacitor may be a  bad example, but I hope you get the point.

So, for some reason, ever since 3rd grade I have been over weight. I played outide, sports, worked, etc. yet was still overweight. I do know what started it – bologna sandwiches all summer long with a grandpa who thought I was starving even though mom fed us very balanced meals. Something then triggered either genetically or I somehow managed to reprogram my body to retain fat during that summer and it has been the same ever since. I am now 6 foot 1″ and am often referrred to as “big guy” due to the bulkiness of my muscles. Sheaaah.

Here we are though today. I look okay, but I’d like to improve the weight thing for health reasons and so that my wife will be irresistably drawn to my new van dam like appearance (yes tongue in cheek). Now don’t get me wrong, for the second time in my life – women are finding me attractive again. There seems to be some sweet spot right at about 220lbs where I start getting hit on. That’s not exactly what I want, but it does give the ego a little boost when I get down waiting on my beloved wife.

So… here is the goal, lose 30lbs by next summer. That means I need to somehow spend 105,000 calories by next summer if a pound of fat is 3500 cals. If I currently go with the 2200 calorie a day diet and shave off 1000 per day – that could put me at the desired loss in 100 days give or take provided that the burn rate remains constant. That’s the problem – the body adjusts as caloric intake is reduced. It’s all very simple actually – they teach stuff like this in engineering classes. Since the body then compensates by dropping the metabolic rate – perhaps there are ways to better lose weight than starving for a 100 days? You seeing some parallels with relationship dynamics yet? 🙂

Okay, is there another way? I’ve done the Atkins thing and it works for the first 20lbs or so until the body catches on. Ultimately, no matter what diet I try, or heck even since I have been exercising more and generally eating quite healthy – my body has still decided to convert bell peppers and brocoli into … fat. This may be analgous to the success with the marriage last year. There are still some underlying issues though that need to be solved. Time to break out the jack hammer and relay the foundation.

I suspect that what may be occurring is that due to the vegetarian thing, I probably had a loss in muscle – not that I had any muscle to start with other than being a big guy. This loss of muscle may have then allowed for less burning of energy maybe. In addition, my body was somehow reprogrammed to gain weight when I was a young man. It must be reprogrammed.

Firstly, to counteract the lack of protein – I started working out and ingesting something called whey protein. I’ve been told that I am looking thinner – though my weight does not reflect it. Did I somehow gain 15lbs of muscle over 5-6 months? I doubt it, though my strength did go up tremendously within the span of 2 months. I shall continue with this program; however, I need to make some adjustments.

I’m going to investigate the role of the thyroid gland in regulating weight gain / loss. I may look at extra iodine for the old’ thyroid.

I’m going to see about accupuncture treatment for weight loss. I had been doing accupuncture to help with my blood pressure. It concert with other holisitic healing thingies, it seems to have dropped my blood pressure by 30 points in about 3 weeks. Eat your heart out Dr. Jinx – Topral XL and Diovan is for the birds…. the body already had what it needed to drop the blood pressure and I hope the same is true because I really don’t want to starve myself for 100 days thus resulting in further lowering of my metabolic rate.

Beyond this, I’m going to see if I have any food allergies that may contribute to a lower metabolic rate.

That’s all for now. As of this writing I weight 230lbs. I would like to weigh about 200lbs. 215lbs seems to be my lower limit. I had gotten down to 205lbs at one point, but that was during the early stages of the divorce proceedings when I didn’t eat for like two months straight almost 🙂

Other things in the news… me and my mother in law have been doing Bible study together and she has been coaching me on a number of areas as far as better relating to women. Learning a lot still.

One effect is the emotional shutdown and clam up effect. I have known about this for about a year now, but unsure of how to deal with it. I’m still not sure if this is specific to women or not, but I’ll continue to investigate.

Blood Pressure Dropping Like A Rock

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Well, I am  still not sure whether this is due to accupuncture or just synergies of the other things I am doing, but my blood pressure has been dropping like a rock. I have been keeping fairly detailed notes and below is a summary of what was done.
I started the Edgar Cayce diet which consists of largely raw vegetables. I’ve been vegetarian for about 5 months now, but this part was changed by switching to raw vegetables and adjusting to the balancing of Alkalai vs. Acid as suggested by Edgar. By the way, Edgar died at a relatively young age. Sometimes the cobbler’s children have no shoes?

I ate only Spirulina and whey as part of a 4.5 day fast to clear out the intestines. This also had the various enema and colonic cleansing herbs added to the mix.

I kept up my usual pattern of walking about 3 times each week for about 40 minutes with 40lbs of weights strapped to me to generate a sweat.

I had my back and neck adjusted.

Performed accupressure using emotional freedom technique.

Performed visualization exercises in the spirit of the law of atttraction.

I have two or three people praying for my heart.

I have a back massager thingy that I rigged up.

I have taken supplemental herbs particularly something called Hawthorn. There is another story for this I’ll describe later.

I’ve had three accupuncture treatments.  I go in for the 4th this coming Friday.

My “Doctor” advised me that the accupuncture can sometimes act as a catalyst and probably what happend was that it provided the final intertia for massive changes in my blood pressure.

What I can say is that after quitting smoking – my blood pressure actually went up.At the highest it was 180 over 116 or so.

After two weeks of holistic treatment – this morning it was 122 over 80 and is continuuing to trend downward.

This is without heart medication.

I was previously on Topral XL (50 mG) and Diovan (300 mG).  This got it down to 150 over 90. Gee whiz. I gave up on heart meds and tried natural instead. Without heart meds I could literally “feel” my blood pressure in the top of my head and in my heart. I am a young man still. Not good.

Now I can feel it going down – I like this method better.  Your mileage may vary.

Superfoods Rationing

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I have been looking into options for emergency food rationing and what not over the last year or so. Not to freak out or anything, but apparently the US economy may take a hit or two in the coming year. My sources were right on the money with respect to coming changes in the oil price (down) and a big hit to occur in this month. I’m not saying the sky is falling, but that it is good to be prepared. Preparedness reduces worry in my opinion. To do this, I had to develop a strategy.

One of the things  that comes to mind, is reducing the necessary caloric intake and allowing the body to operate more efficiently and reducing the storage required for emergency rations. I read one report of a man who could survive on water and 9 grams of pond scum each day. I also found sources for cheese and learned on the history channel that cheese can be stored for long periods of time.

So just in case Kroger’s runs out of milk – I figured it would be good to get some emergency rations. I didn’t want to stock the garage full of powdered milk and pinto beans so I looked for a possible alternative – although I do have gallons upon gallons of beans, rice, flour, and various staples stored up. The alternative is called Spurilina.

Spurilina is some sort of dried algae (pond scum) that is supposed to be very high in protien and nutrients that a lot of us under nutrioned but obese Americans are missing. So, I figured I would test out this susbstance not unlike how I am testing accupuncture. I need a test subject…. any volunteers? Me me me as usual is the only volunteer.

I have already been fasting for two days now for another purpose, but did have a shot of whey powder with water yesterday because I didn’t want to give up my strength increases from weight training. I felt that this was cheating a bit though. It was only an ounce of whey powder, but still. This is for spiritual purposes and I need my stomach empty.

I plan to try this spurilina stuff as a fasting supplement and see what it does to my health. It doesn’t look very filling which  should work out okay with my fast. They say it “reverses” cancer. I don’t know about all that, but maybe it will help my hypertension. I also read that when fasting, one should execute a detox otherwise there is no real benefit.

FYI – public service announcement be careful when fasting… when you come off – if you eat a lot of bad stuff (e.g., fried jalopeno sticks and Dr. Pepper) or don’t slowly come back – you can shock your body and the next time you fast it will spend the whole time preparing for the shock instead of purging that cigarette you secretly smoked when you were seven.

Also, don’t avoid water. Drink lots of water. I once did a three day fast with no food or water. Turns out, that was a bad idea to go without water in more literature that I read.

A year ago, if you had told me I would be eating pond scum and water I would have told you are nuts. Times are a changin…. speaking of which, Rosh Hoshana starts tonight.

I really wanted to try out that ol’ Jewish tradition, but since I am fasting… I guess I’ll have to mentally eat an apple in honey. I’ll do that part later, but this coming evening is a time of newness…. the new year for some and hopefully for me.

Accupuncture Blood Pressure

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

I have hypertension. Right now I am going through undesired divorce proceedings and I imagine that has something to do with my blood pressure going up.

I went ahead and started doing the Edgar Cayce program for lowering blood pressure. In addition, I started doing the “emotional freedom technique” system of accupressure, used the Sedona method for handling the emotions, etc. This includes the castor oil packs, walking, lemon juice, diet, etc. In addition, I found some herbal supplements – particularly one called Hawthorn.

All of this seems to be working. My blood pressure dropped 15 points over a period of about two weeks. I also do the ol’ daily affirmation / visualization of my blood pressure going down. I have no idea which of these is most responsible, but it seems to be helping.

Everything I have read suggests that there is an underlying emotional issue that still remains untreated and may have something to do with my heart and/or root chakra having blockages.

So, I went ahead and went in for accupuncture as well. This was this last Friday. We shall see what unfolds as I receive additional treatments.
