Master Cleansing Contemplation
As part of my fast leading up to Passover I had gotten down to about 216-220lbs. Yay. Quite exciting. At my maximum weight almost three to four years ago I had weighed 250lbs. Holy Cow, fat man!
My doctor had told me I need to be about 180lbs, so I guess I have about another 40lbs to go. The trouble is, even after switching to vegetarian diet and walking and exercising, I still wasn’t losing all that much weight. It may have been all the oranges I was eating. When I was at around 235 lbs, I tried something called the “red light” therapy. I would basically hold a red lamp and point it at my solar plexus for about 30 minutes, while listening to marching music. I ate nothing but red or orange food for about 3 – 4 weeks. I dropped 10lbs fairly quickly, but once I started going back to normal food, my weight loss halted.
My most recent fast in preparation for Passover brought me down to 218-220lbs. I seem to be holding weight at 220lbs.
For my next trick, I am thinking of doing the “Master Cleanse” fast. This is basically lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. They say that you can lose up to 2lbs a day on this fast and can go as long as 40 days because most of the vitamins and minerals are provided by the lemons and maple syrup. This may be my next step in my efforts to reset my metabolism and no longer be a bigger fellow.
I’ll have to wait until after the Feast of Unleavened Bread is complete to do this one though. I am actually getting excited about fasting. Weirdo.
