History is not taught very well in today’s public schools, and that is why the history of the Democratic Party is totally unknown by the American voting public. Believe it or not, the Democratic Party was inspired by those Southern delegates to the Constitutional Convention of 1787 who forced all of the other delegates to accept the institution of slavery as the price of their participation in the new government. That is why the Southern states were able to count each slave as three-fifths of a person in determining the number of representatives the state could send to Congress.

Although the Constitution called for ending the importation of slaves by 1808, the Southerners were compensated by Section 2 of Article IV, which stated: “No Person held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, but shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such Service or Labour may be due.”

The word slavery was not mentioned in the Constitution because such men as Washington, Madison, Franklin and others had hoped to abolish slavery, but were forced into the compromises that made it possible for the Southern states to join the union. They expected that the Southern states would phase out this undemocratic institution over a period of time.

But the opposite happened, and the Democratic Party, which was formally organized in 1831, became the pro-slavery party. While the importation of slaves was forbidden, the population of slaves grew dramatically because of deliberate slave breeding. The children of slaves were automatically considered slaves. Many a white slave owner could thereby increase the value of his slave property by impregnating his female slaves.

Opposing the Democrats was the Whig Party, organized in 1839. But because the party contained within its ranks both pro-slavery Southerners and anti-slavery Northerners, the party was too divided to be effective. They were gradually overshadowed by a new political group, the Republican Party, manned by determined abolitionists. The contest between North and South now became far more bitter and well defined.

The National Democratic Convention met at Baltimore in June of 1852. Among its resolutions were the following: “All efforts of Abolitionists or others made to induce Congress to interfere with questions of Slavery” will “endanger the stability and permanency of the Union.”…”Resolved, That the Democratic party will resist all attempts at renewing, in Congress or out of it, the agitation of the Slavery question, under whatever shape or color the attempt may be made.”

At the Democratic National Convention in Cincinnati in June, 1856, the party reiterated its repudiation of all attempts by abolitionists to interfere with the institution of slavery, which, if not stopped, “must end in civil war and disunion.”

Meanwhile, agitation for secession on the part of the South had been growing to the point where most Southerners saw no solution to the problem other than seceding from the United States. Sen. Iveson of Georgia, in an 1860 address to his constituents said: “Slavery must be maintained in the Union if possible, out of it if necessary; peaceably if we may, forcibly if we must.”

In other words, the South had decided that it preferred preserving the institution of slavery over preserving the United States of America. Slavery was more important than union.

The election of Democrat James Buchanan as president in 1857 gave Southerners the opportunity to plan secession with the help of Buchanan’s Southern members of his cabinet. For example, John B. Floyd, secretary of war, managed to transfer huge amounts of military stores and equipment from Northern armories to Southern ones in preparation for war. As a result the North was rendered defenseless.

When the Republican Party nominated Abraham Lincoln for president in 1860, the slave states decided that the time was ripe for quitting the Union, setting the stage for Civil War. The Southern Democrats, so totally imbued with their own power to destroy the Union, did not know what they were up against in the person of Abraham Lincoln. By 1865, by the time the Civil War was over, the South lay in ruins and slavery had been abolished. The Democratic Party then became the part of racial segregation and Jim Crow.

And what is the Democratic Party today? It is the party of left-wing socialism, dumbed-down public education, defeat in Iraq, amnesty for illegal immigrants, abortion on demand, gay marriage, more taxes for everyone, bans on oil drilling and “change you can believe in?” As the French say, “plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose,” the more it changes, the more it’s the same thing.

Celestar8

Monday, August 18th, 2008

One incident I recall from my past was somehow …. guessing what my bosses password was and somehow setting it to my password. It was probably first “true” exposure to the possibility that psychic abilities may actually be real.

Let me replay this for you…. I set my password to celestar8.  I have no idea where I came up with that. I was working as a student worker at the time and needed the bosses password while he was way on vacation. I was a systems administrator at the time and needed to get into a system that was having challenges.

Anyway, since I couldn’t reach him at the time, I installed a password cracking program on his workstation to retrieve his password.

As the password cracking program started going – it revealed his password to be … yeah you guessed it … celestar8.

What the ????????    I remember feeling slightly dirty… like… how in the world did this happen? Can this be chance? What is going on here? I don’t get it. This can’t be chance.

What are the odds? Play Texas Lottery.

Football Helmet Filled with Cottage Cheese

Friday, August 15th, 2008

The movie Airheads (below) had this one scene where the guys were asked by the police what their set of demands were for the hostage situation layed out in the movie. Anyway, not knowing what to do and trying to stall the police – the fearless leader included a “Football Helmet filled with cottage cheese” as one of the many items on the list of demands. It was designed to buy time. I have been starting to suspect ever so increasingly that some of our prayers work in perhaps a similar way. That I know that I know that I know feeling – when you know that a prayer has been answered. Sometimes various triggers are used to inspire the belief regardless of religions. Candles from Jesus’ tomb, a bone fragment, some ritual, or whatever. I suspect that creation of the belief is what matters to impact change in the world – or an answered prayer.

Kindergarten

Friday, August 15th, 2008

“All I really needed to learn I learned in kindergarten. Don’t move. Sit still. Shut up. Don’t rock the boat. Don’t make waves. Don’t ask questions. Follow orders. Accept your lot in life. Follow the path chosen for you. Please others. Ask permission first. Keep up with the Joneses. Follow trends. Aspire to the norm. Stay inside the lines. Eyes on your own paper. Never switch position. Accept and employ categorization. Don’t attract attention. Keep your head down and your eyes shut. Do not attempt to make changes. This has all been preordained. Don’t take a chance. Ignore your conscience. This is all there is. Remain silent. Obey.”

Stop Smoking

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

So I’m going on about 7 days now without smoking. I was up to about three packs a day of menthols. I’ve tried to quit before and though technically I can’t say that I have quit until about 6 months to a year, I think it will be okay once they taste “nasty” again.

Anyway, I used a hypnosis CD from Paul McKenna. I’ll see about putting up a link to the site. I have to comment that I tried his program three times, but I made a slight adjustment.

Someone told me the following: The reason your relationship with your bride is messed up is because his relationship with His bride is messed up. I took my last three cigarettes – created a little fire and burned them on my garage floor and watched the smoke rise up after that. Then I used Paul’s techniques for controlling the urges as they came. His techniques seem to be largely focused on classical conditioning with a twist.

Think of something nasty and associate it with squeezing your left thumb and middle finger together (e.g., drinking from a spittoon).

Think of something awesome to give you a dump of endorphines to fight off the urge to smoke. Squeeze your right thumb and middle finger together for this.

Reiki

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

So I’ve put in several requests at http://www.the-dhn.com/ for Reiki healing of my wife and hopefully restoration of our marriage and family. I’ve also been altering my prayers to be more visual in nature. I imagine us laying in bed together, on the beach as a family, putting her clothes back into our closet, etc and the emotions it generates. This comes forth from Mark 11:22.

Anyway, the last two-three weeks have been rough, but it may be getting better.

Also, got a tarot card reading and it basically said that we would fight for a bit, that she has someone else in the way, but it was God’s will for us to be together. I decided to start learning Reiki healing whatever that means and to focus on being the best man that I can be even more.

Someone told me recently that my relationship with my wife reflects my relationship with the Creator. Yeah, I know me and the Creator like to argue sometimes, but I didn’t think it was that bad – though it does make sense.

The trouble with these sort of things is that it is difficult to identify the source of the healing as she starts to act nicer.

To Do List

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Okay, so I’ve been trying to grow spiritually. Well on the to do list were the following:

Convert to Vegetarian – done since the first of May give or take

Quit Smoking – 7 days now. Will write a separate post on how I did this.

Stop Drinking – Haven’t drank a drop since mid-May of 08.
Start Exercising – Yeah got this started. Been lifting for about a week and swimming about two – three times a week, and walk about 30 minutes a week.

Start Meditation.

I’ve been listening to a number of medidation tracks trying to become better at meditating and what not. Anyway, I’ll post a separate article about this.

Transmigration of the Soul and Woman’s Health

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I had a thought come to me the other day. It is a possible explanation as to why women tend to live longer than men. So here’s the thing – I have a sneaking suspicion that women typically marry men older than them. This may or may not be true, but from what I’ve read at least in more ancient accounts it was true.

So let’s say the idea of transmigration of souls is reality. It makes sense to me, but I’ve never been able to prove the truth within myself just yet, so it is purely intellectual at this point.

Anyway, if women tend to live longer than men and the natural tendency is for women and men who are married to remain locked into a karma loop until they both live out the divine pattern of man, woman, and child in harmony – then it would not be surprising for the man to die first so that he can then be re-implanted into a new body and given a couple years to grow before woman does the same.

I suspect that couples that actually have broken free of the karma loop are those that die within a couple days or months of each other.

This is all just a guess.
