Master Cleanse – Day 13 and 14

Coming down from the master cleanse fast (see Day 1). I began yesterday with small glass of fresh blended orange juice. For some reason I decided to include the orange peel though I am not too sure why. It tasted nasty. I added some agave nectar to it and it was manageable, but was a bit powerful for my taste buds. I was squinting at some points and had to slowly consume the frothy liquid.

I bought some organic oranges for this purpose. They weren’t as sweet as the non-organic type.

On the 14th day, today, I woke up feeling somewhat hungry and also had one elimination. I was thinking – all of that from orange juice? What the? I had some dreams this morning that were quite nice. I’ve recorded the details offline.

This morning I made “vegetable broth”. I had read somewhere that the kind of vegetable broth one buys out of a can is nasty compared to real vegetable broth. Turns out they were right.

Here is a picture of my concoction. I based it on 1 tomato, some purple cabbage, a bit of cauliflower, carrots, garlic, celery, bay leaves, a sprig of rosemary, a leaf of sage, some cumin powder, and a couple of cloves. Surprisingly, it was quite delicious.

Note the color of the broth, it is quite fetching.

As I ingested this divine vegetable broth, I did something a little bit differently this time. I closed my eyes as I ate and just enjoyed the various flavors that were in my concoction. By the end of the meal, I had filled up on vegetable broth and a small cup of orange banana juice with orange peel still in it. I was attempting to “feel” the nourishment and the warmth of the liquid as it entered my body. It made for a whole different dining experience.
