Our Deepest Fear

I’m trying to prepare a meditation routine. One thing I have heard about is starting out with certain feelings and such before hand. One way to trigger these feelings is to read poems or scripture. John Ch 17 may be good.  Here is something else:

Our Deepest Fear – Maryanne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Patterns in Pi errr.. Primes

The following url describes scientists identifying patterns in Primes. This is similar to something I once read in the book, Contact, by Carl Sagan. In this book, a pattern was discovered in Pi, which formed a sphere.

The following article indicates that Pi is pretty random though:

Master Cleanse – Day 13 and 14

Coming down from the master cleanse fast (see Day 1). I began yesterday with small glass of fresh blended orange juice. For some reason I decided to include the orange peel though I am not too sure why. It tasted nasty. I added some agave nectar to it and it was manageable, but was a bit powerful for my taste buds. I was squinting at some points and had to slowly consume the frothy liquid.

I bought some organic oranges for this purpose. They weren’t as sweet as the non-organic type.

On the 14th day, today, I woke up feeling somewhat hungry and also had one elimination. I was thinking – all of that from orange juice? What the? I had some dreams this morning that were quite nice. I’ve recorded the details offline.

This morning I made “vegetable broth”. I had read somewhere that the kind of vegetable broth one buys out of a can is nasty compared to real vegetable broth. Turns out they were right.

Here is a picture of my concoction. I based it on 1 tomato, some purple cabbage, a bit of cauliflower, carrots, garlic, celery, bay leaves, a sprig of rosemary, a leaf of sage, some cumin powder, and a couple of cloves. Surprisingly, it was quite delicious.

Note the color of the broth, it is quite fetching.

As I ingested this divine vegetable broth, I did something a little bit differently this time. I closed my eyes as I ate and just enjoyed the various flavors that were in my concoction. By the end of the meal, I had filled up on vegetable broth and a small cup of orange banana juice with orange peel still in it. I was attempting to “feel” the nourishment and the warmth of the liquid as it entered my body. It made for a whole different dining experience.

Well, until next time on the Unscriptural Chef, happy fasting!

Master Cleanse – Day 13

I seem to be at a cross roads. I weigh just over 205lbs today.  I weighed 225 not even two weeks ago. Though the purpose is not so much for weight loss, but rather cleansing – the weight loss does seem to be a nice benefit. Should I continue on, it is likely that within a week I will weigh less than 200lbs for the first time in nearly 15 years. Even if that was only temporary, I know that my ego would derive an enormous confidence boost from that, of course, until half the weight came back since I am still driven by external forces at the moment 🙂

The sea-salt mixture caused another elimination this morning. After 13 days without food, it kind of makes one wonder though.

My knees are hurting so I am going to get some olive oil and peppermint oil to help them out, but this has been an ongoing problem since February. My astrologer told me it was due to the alignment of the stars and even asked IF my knees were hurting without me having to tell her.

I killed a bug in a program I was working on last night. This had been eating my lunch for some time, and my mind was sharp enough to find the bug and correct the error!

Had some rather vivid dreams this morning.

Master Cleanse – Day 12

Parenthetical text below is to jog my memory and will be meaningless for other readers.

Had some vivid dreams this morning (deacon and wife). Went to bed without dinner last night… well.

I’ve had limited desire to eat anything over the last couple of days. I weighed between 207 and 209lbs this morning. Let’s call it 208.

Woke up around 5ish and prayed for a bit. I recorded my dreams on my iPhone.

Pants are getting loose and people are commenting that I’ve lost “a lot” of weight. This is in the span of 12 days mind you.

I’m at a bit of a cross-roads(214). I can finish up with the master cleanse and go on to veggie broth perhaps and continue this weight loss thing for a couple more weeks maybe and for once be at a healthy weight in my life – or stop the fast and resume normal operations.  The struggle is that I will almost immediately gain half of the weight back.

I think what I may do is switch into veggie broth for a bit, and then graduate to spirulina and see how long I can maintain my weight using spirulina since it is a good source of minerals and protein and such. The body needs over 200 minerals I am told. This may truly be a way to reset my metabolism which seems to have gotten broken since I was in 3rd grade.

I went swimming yesterday and got a little bit of sun. Got A LOT of work done last night on a web site I’ve been working on called masterlistpro.com. My productivity has been starting to sky rocket and creativity is flowing again. I was so excited with all the ideas I had last night that I could barely get to sleep.

One thing I am also considering is how to implement a meditation / exercise schedule. I may very well do this with MasterList Professional 🙂 – my new shareware program.

Master Cleanse – Day 11

A few more days? I had originally targeted 14 days. I am sort of liking this though. I’m trying to think of a way to extend the fast. I suspect what I may do is start back with vegetable broth and continue on from there to spirulina.

Recently, I’ve been told that my face is getting thinner which is always a good thing I suppose. I didn’t realize how pudgy I must look. Currently I weigh 210lbs as of waking up. My doctor once told me my ideal weight is around 180lbs, so I guess there is always room for improvement. Sadly, the master cleanse won’t really help me with that department because half of the weight I lose will come right back. At this point, weight loss has slowed to a crawl, but still – 15lbs in 11 days. I guess that’s not too bad. Almost 1lb a day.

I am feeling good for the most part; however, I got up at 5AM this morning and couldn’t sleep anymore. I prayed for a couple hours and listened to a binaural track.

Had another almond oil bath last night. Did some pushups and such this morning, but felt a bit too weak to do anything really strenuous, so I elected to do curls instead.

Salt solution went down the hatch a bit easier this morning. Also, this morning I had a cramped stomach and had an elimination. My right side near my kidney hurts a little bit. My mind is clear though.

I had one dream this morning and a slight “impression”. I can’t remember the dream, wait as I write this I suddenly remember it. I was at the lab at my old job, but my present supervisor was there with me and we were drawing up plans for some kind of business.

The impression (if I may call it that – it was a 3 second flash of an image), was a mountain with the sun behind it. As I woke up to read my emails and such, the 11:11 group had this mentioned from some channeling done by these guys (http://1111prompt.blogspot.com):

“Only through obedience can we overcome our lower nature by constantly checking in with the spirit, asking for guidance, and praying for deliverance from the shadows of the past that haunt and taunt us to fall back into unconscious living and material pursuit.  Just when you feel that you are making great spiritual progress and everything seems to be in perfect harmony in your universe, the lure of some guilty pleasure or unhealthy passion; anger or bigotry; selfishness or pride; creeps in and knocks you from your mountain top and drags you into the dungeons of guilt and unworthiness.  Yes my beloved, I have walked these darkened paths, and I have overcome just as you can and will, for the Father is rich in love and mercy.

Master Cleanse – Day 10

I read some interesting things about fasting last night from this site:

http://drbass.com/aboutfruit.html

This seems to support ideas I have heard from other people about being sure to chew something like gum during a fast to make sure your teeth stay working.

Day 10.

210lbs.

Salt solution is still bringing forth demonage, so I guess I have more room to go. I should probably keep going until there is no more demonage. I found that it works better when I make it cold instead of warming in the microwave.

The fast is really easy at this point, but then I only have a few more days left before vegetable broth time. As I consider vegetable broth, one thing that I noticed is that in the organic section, the vegetable broths use filtered water, not distilled like I ordinarily drink. This could be a problem. I may have to make my own.

Yesterday, I took an “almond oil” bath using some soaps I found in the organic section at Kroger’s. The rash underneath my arm pits has gone away. It seems that I have found a type of deodorant that is natural and works on me without causing a rash.

Master Cleanse – Day 9 Continued

I just found a site that seems to have some awesome recipes for vegetarian cooking. I think when this fast is over with I will set out to make some of these awesome looking dishes:

http://organicgoddess.wordpress.com/

It is about noon and I’m finding that the salt solution worked quite well today. I have found that my desire for food is rather low.

I had some dreams last night, but forgot to write them down so they faded back into the cloud of forgetfulness. Also, I did “red light’ therapy again right around dusk yesterday. This may assist with weight loss. We shall see.

I had an ache on the left side of my body today and my left knee hurts a bit. My mind feels sharp though and I am being very productive at work so far.

Day 9 – Master Cleanse

Categories: Fasting

This morning I weighed 210lbs after getting on the scale oh so carefully. Once I was on it, I pressed and hymned and hawed a bit and it seemed to remain constant at 210-211lbs.
Had an elimination after eight days. I was thinking what in the heck? How did this happen? I also feel a little bit of nausea this morning, but I think it is because I haven’t eaten – Ha!

I woke up feeling kind of rough this morning, aches and pains on my body.

Last night I went swimming and then took a peppermint oil bath. I also rubbed organic olive oil all over my body and poured it onto my scalp as well. Though not having the salt solution this morning as of yet, I feel the need to eliminate.

Day 9 – I only have a few more days left I guess. At this point, food has sort of lost interest for me. I know that will come and go. Sex drive seems to be increasing slightly, but they may be a function of the moon. Doesn’t really matter since I have no wife to make love with at present I suppose.

Two tips I got from friends yesterday:

When fasting, be sure and chew gum so that your teeth don’t become loose and fall out.

To trigger dreams, sometimes a piece of dark chocolate before bed will help.

The Lowly Banana

Bananas are a super food apparently. My doctor once told me to avoid them due to the sugar content.
